This article lists the materials to prepare before submission and explains what to avoid when writing descriptions.
01 First, prepare a set of basic materials
- Product name and website URL
- A one-sentence introduction, under 30 words
- A 30-second product overview, suitable for the top of a details page
- At least three screenshots showing the actual interface
- Pricing details, clearly stating free and paid features
- Founder or team information, required by some sites
02 The one-sentence intro should clarify what it does and who it's for
For example: 'Helps indie developers diagnose product growth issues and generate a 30-day cold-start plan.' This covers what the product is, who the users are, and what they gain.
03 Write a different introduction for each site
Posting the same text on multiple sites may be flagged as duplicate content by search engines. Tailor each site's introduction by highlighting different angles—for AI tool users, emphasize categorization features; for indie developers, focus on the cold-start plan.
04 Choose the category that best matches your core functionality.
Avoid selecting multiple unrelated categories just for exposure. Inaccurate categories can lead to rejection during review and attract irrelevant traffic after listing.
05 Do not include unverifiable numbers.
Avoid citing user counts, revenue, or growth percentages without public data sources. Directory editors and readers may verify, and incorrect figures can harm credibility.
